STUDENT
Hello! My name is Siddharth (Sid) Shah (he/him). I am currently a freshman at
Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland.
I have a strong passion for robotics and programming. Outside of academics,
I enjoy running track and playing basketball and football with friends, and playing video
games such as Minecraft, Overwatch, and many more. I am a friendly guy; I don't bite
FIRST TECH CHALLENGE
FIRST is a global robotics organization dedicated to spreading STEM
across the world.
I began in FIRST LEGO League in 3rd grade and later served as a team
captain across multiple seasons. I have links with team 24163, 19434, and 19941
I am currently a programmer on FTC Team 13100 — 47 Beavers.
Programming
I began programming when I was just in 5th grade, starting with putting together javascript
blocks in code.org. This soon evolved into a programming journey that I did not know would happen at the time
Although most of my programming ties are with the FIRST Tech Challenge. I have done a lot for the community in programming
such as contributing to the official Cookbook by the Dairy Foundation, and provided input on several NextFTC library
issues and bugs. Through my programming journey, I have mastered programming in languages HTML, Markdown, CSS, JavaScript for
web development, and some experience with Java, Kotlin, Python for hands-on robotics work. I am the founder and lead developer for the organization Index47 which can be found on my github homepage
TRACK & FIELD
I began running track in 7th grade as a distance runner and trained
consistently for multiple years.
I am currently a member of my high school’s varsity track and field
team, practicing and competing throughout the season, as a primarily 1600m/800m runner.
BASKETBALL
I played for several AAU teams across my middle school career as a shooting guard and forward,
these include Koa Sports, Classics AAU, as well as founding the Potomac location for Next Level Basketball.
Although I have quit this sport and have moved onto track, I sincerely honor the atheletiscism that this
sport has provided for me and how it has helped me build athletic discipline and basic fitness.
